Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach Job Description
Primary Responsibilities :
The Assistant Coach will support the head coach in delivering a successful and well-rounded athletic program while fostering the development of student-athletes. Responsibilities include the following :
- Philosophy and Technique Implementation
Teach and reinforce the fundamental philosophy, skills, and techniques as directed by the head coach.
Maintain discipline among student-athletes and follow established guidelines set forth by the head coach, school, and district.
Provide consistent attention to student-athletes' academic performance and conduct.
Attend all practices and games, offering guidance, assistance, and safeguarding participants.
Oversee locker room cleanliness and ensure facilities are maintained before and after use.
Ensure athletes are in authorized areas only and adhere to appropriate schedules.
Build positive relationships with parents, officials, volunteers, and fans.
Carry out additional responsibilities assigned by the head coach in accordance with district policy and North Carolina Administrative Code and Statutes.
