What are the responsibilities and job description for the Childcare Cook (Part-Time) position at Vance-Granville Community College?
In accordance with the organizational chart and overall plan of Vance-Granville Community College, the Child Care Cook reports to the Child Care Center Director. The primary purpose of this position is to follow menu plans and prepare nutritious meals and snacks to approximately 40 preschoolers in a day care setting.

- Prepare a daily lunch and afternoon snack for the children enrolled in the Child Care Center.
- Maintain inventory and provide the director with a bi-monthly food order form. The director will place the food order.
- Prepare a monthly menu for the director to post and send to parents.
- Maintains health and sanitation requirements in the kitchen area.
- follow USDA Child Care Guidelines to prepare weekly menus for the children.
- Cleans-up kitchen and laundry area of Center in accordance with written housekeeping schedule.
- Assists with inventory of kitchen supplies, notifying Center Director when repairs are needed.
- Prepares and serves foods at special Child Care Center programs and functions.
- Must have experience cooking and preparing meals.
- Must submit to a local, state and, if necessary, federal criminal background check.
- Must have completed a background check to work in the Childcare Center
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must provide a signed health statement and T.B. test results at the time of employment.
- Walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and repetitive movements.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
