What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Counselor - Infusion position at Vancouver Clinic?
Responsible for insurance verification and eligibility.
Will obtain authorization for non-chemo infusions and counsel patients on insurance benefits and co-payments.
Will creates a written financial outline of benefits and potential out of pocket costs.
Works closely with Infusion Clinic staff to facilitate timely scheduling of treatments and maintenance of future appointments. Schedule : Mon - Fri 8am to 5pm, will be on site at the office. Hiring Range : $21.20 / hour to $28.00 / hour, commensurate with applicable professional experience. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Ensures all insurance and eligibility information is verified and an authorization obtained prior to scheduling infusions for all patients.
- Verify on the first business day of each month all commercial, Medicaid insurance.
- Re-verify all insurance eligibility benefits on an annual basis at the beginning of each year.
- Performs insurance verification process on all third party payers.
Obtains initial and subsequent preauthorization for services.
Communicates with providers to gather any required documentation.
Obtains benefits / authorization and accurately enters authorization into system.
Communicates concerns to business office

Benefits-eligible employees accrue PTO and Personal Time based on hours worked and State worked, totaling 120 hours in the first year for full time staff and 200 hours in the first year for full time supervisors and above, increasing in subsequent years.
PTO and Personal Time accruals are pro-rated by FTE / hours worked.
Non-benefits eligible employees will accrue Personal Time based on hours worked and State worked.
Employees will also enjoy up to six paid holidays per year, depending on schedule.
