Responsible for all aspects of clinician and employee payroll processes. Employee possesses strong working knowledge of payroll tax laws and payroll processes to recommend and implement changes in policies and procedures. Collaborate with CAT team for clinician compensation payroll processing. Responsible for the general accounting functions related to payroll and analysis of financial data to meet clinic goals. Operates as the subject matter expert, escalating as needed to Payroll Manager and continuously looks for improvements in operational processes.
Hiring Range : $69,800.00 to $94,147, commensurate with professional experience and certification.
Summary of Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
- Process payroll accurately and timely for clinicians and staff.
- Train and cross-train team members on payroll processes.
- Manage deductions (e.g., 401(k), tax levies, garnishments) per federal and state regulations.
- Handle local, state, and federal payroll filings for quarterly and year-end requirements.
- Process approved expense reimbursements for employees and clinicians.
- Regularly review payroll safeguards and controls to ensure accuracy.
- Update and maintain payroll instructions.
- Provide excellent customer service to payroll inquiries, escalating issues to the Payroll Manager as needed.
- Participate in third-party payroll audits.
- Post payroll-related journal entries.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on payroll policies.
- Review payroll data for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in budgeting for payroll and payroll-related benefits.
- Continuously improve payroll procedures and system functions.
- Stay updated on payroll and tax laws and contribute to process changes.
- Complete month-end close and reconciliations as assigned.
- Support payroll system development, enhancements, and reporting.
- Assist with preparing financial reports and analysis.
