What are the responsibilities and job description for the Systems Administrator position at Vancouver Clinic?
Responsible for supporting and managing the IS datacenter equipment to include servers, and network infrastructure. Install and configure servers, configure and monitor network equipment, and configure server based software. Primary operational support for XenApp & XenDesktop environments. The successful candidate for this position will have demonstrable hands-on experience managing a production XenApp, XenDesktop and XenServer environment. Schedule : Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm Position is On Site ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Administer diverse Windows 2008 and Windows 2012, XenServer Server Farm
- Administer large Citrix XenApp farm to include change management, and licensing
- Administer SQL databases, Exchange Servers
- Administer windows domain network services to include AD, DNS, File / Print, WWW
- Administer Virtualization environment including XenServer, XenApp, XenDesktop & Vmware ESXi.
- Develop administrative scripts to solve IT challenges (powershell, vbs, batch, etc.)
- Apply OS updates, and manage change management.
- Monitor, and troubleshoot performance, and system problems
- Monitor, analyze, and document performance on a regular basis.
- Stay abreast of new technologies, which might benefit the clinic.
- Participate in system feasibility studies and project proposals.
- Coordinate and develop system specifications and designs.
- Provide on-call assistance for all emergency issues.
- Disaster Recovery planning and documentation
- Contact vendors for repairs needed. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
- Bachelor's or technical degree in related field (computer science, information systems, etc.) or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of four (4) years' relevant (system / network administration) experience.
- IT certifications desired such as MCP, MCSE, CCNA, CCA, CCEA, VCP.
- Epic ECSM certifications desired
- Proven ability to communicate effectively, both in written and oral form.
- Proven ability to work as part of a team, in a fast-paced production oriented environment.
- Proven ability to satisfy customers and enhance software usage, in a production environment.
