People going through a divorce or custody dispute have their lives on the line, and they don't know what they need to do to protect themselves. When a client calls Vancouver Family Law for the first time, we aim to provide an experience that blankets them in an atmosphere of stability and security. We want them to know that we understand their problems, and we have tailored solutions just for them.
Vancouver Family Law guides our clients on a path of self-discovery and make the world a better place by helping our clients become better people and parents through the divorce process. We strive to help our client's make the right decisions, so that they can spend less time worrying about legal issues and spend more time focused on their own life and children.
We are looking for someone to join our team who is empathetic, prepared and believes in guiding people through difficult times. Someone that believes that every time a potential client walks through the door, they will leave in a better place because we will help them see their problems and take the steps needed to solve them. If this sort of atmosphere and mission resonates with you, then you might be a good fit at our office.
The Position!
Our Oregon and Washington offices currently have seven attorneys, four legal assistants and an intake and consultation team. We are looking for a full-time family law attorney to join our Vancouver practice (Oregon licensing is a bonus!) and adopt a full case load.
The right attorney for our firm will enjoy developing concise plans for our clients and guiding them step-by-step to the best results possible. We need someone who enjoys preparing for and going to court. Someone that thrives in an atmosphere of negotiation. Someone who has just the right amount of empathy, but can also have elevation and know what's best of our clients, even when our client's can't see the path forward.
Our Core Values:
- Understanding and Empathy. We believe that the only way to help our clients is to walk a mile in their shoes. We deeply understand that a custody or divorce is the hardest thing our clients have ever had to experience.
- Always Being Prepared. We don’t kick the can down the road and we prepare from the beginning with a solid plan. We live and die by our calendars.
- Play By The Rules. We don't take short cuts and we believe the rules matter. Yes, it drives us a little bit crazy when an opposing party files their hearing memorandum the morning of trial.
- No Sharp Elbows. We are a tight knit team and value compassion and hard work. We've all had an experience of working at a firm where yelling and abrasiveness was just another day in the office -- it isn't for us.
- Find The Answers. We try our hardest to find the answers first. We love to learn and all strive to become the best. We also know that Google generally has the answer, and start there first.
The Right Candidate Will Have:
- A commitment to practicing family law and a love for this practice area -- this position isn't a test drive in this area of law.
- At least 10 divorce related trials and hearings.
- Excellent working knowledge of Washington's family law statutes, case law, and local rules.
- Experience appearing in Court and the ability to immediately take the reins on multiple cases and adopt a full case load.
- A desire and excitement to appear in court for hearings and trials.
- High level of organization and a desire to utilize their calendar and case management software.
- Must have presence, self-confidence, be sincere, and trustworthy.
- Should be a team player and be level-headed and professional.
- Remain upbeat in difficult times.
- Hard working, able/willing to work after-hours and weekends when necessary for clients.
