Licensed Mental Health Professional

Vancouver Psychological and Counseling Services, PLLC
WA Remote Full Time
POSTED ON 2/17/2025
AVAILABLE BEFORE 5/15/2025

About Us :

Vancouver Psychological is a privately owned therapeutic practice situated in Vancouver, Washington, under the ownership and administration of Dr. Cynthia Parker. With a decade of dedicated service, Dr. Parker has been addressing the needs of individuals grappling with a spectrum of mental health challenges, ranging from chronic conditions to acute and severe disorders.

Over the last 4-5 years, Dr. Parker has progressively shifted her focus towards specializing in the support of impaired professionals, particularly first responders and veterans coping with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). In response to the growing demand within this specific demographic, there arises a necessity to expand our services. Consequently, Dr. Parker is seeking additional clinicians to join our practice, aiming to enhance our capacity to cater to the needs of this population effectively.

The overarching goal is to ensure that no individual seeking our services is turned away or placed on a waitlist, thereby upholding our commitment to providing timely and comprehensive mental health care to our community.

Our primary focus revolves around providing support to veterans, individuals in the public service sector (civil servants), and their families. A specialized emphasis is placed on assisting impaired professionals and individuals grappling with stress and burnout, with the overarching objective of preventing a more severe diagnosis.

Our Ideal Candidate :

We are looking for licensed clinicians who have a passion for helping others. We value clinicians with trauma-based, research-informed approaches, especially those who have worked with our target groups of veterans and their families, public service professionals, civil servants, and corporate executives. Understanding the unique demands of high-stress careers is key.

Our ideal candidate embodies qualities of inclusivity, independence, and collaboration. They must demonstrate respect and competence in working with a diverse population, including military veterans, and maintain a non-partisan approach. A friendly demeanor, flexibility, self-sufficiency, and strong communication skills are essential, coupled with the ability to advocate for oneself and one's clients when necessary.

Candidates should be well-versed in case conceptualization, adhering to the standards of care within their licensure level, operating strictly within their scope of practice, and promptly referring cases back to Dr. Parker when required. Commitment to ongoing professional development through Continuing Education (CE) as mandated by their licensure is expected.

Given the dispersed nature of our practice, candidates must exhibit proficiency in working independently. As an integral part of our team, you'll be expected to have sessions available for clients Monday through Friday, accommodating schedules between 8 am and 8 pm, with a commitment of at least 15 hours per week. This position offers the flexibility of an independent contractor role and the ability to make your own schedule. Applicants already credentialed with Regence are preferred, but we will assist you in getting credentialed if needed. A valuable asset would be proficiency in multiple languages, although this is considered an additional advantage rather than a requirement.

Candidates need to be licensed in either Oregon or Washington, and must maintain licensure for the duration of their employment.

If you're ready to make a difference and contribute to our community by providing quality care, apply now to join us!

Expectations, Schedule, and Hours :

Clinicians will make their own schedules and session appointments based upon what works best for them and their clients. Clinicians are expected to work a minimum of 15 hours per week.

Location :

Sessions must be held virtually in the clinician’s own space. Clinicians are responsible for ensuring they have a private HIPAA compliant place to hold virtual sessions, and all equipment associated. We will provide all needed software.

Responsibilities include conducting virtual sessions, writing SOAP notes, and developing treatment plans. Applicants must consent to a background check and maintain professional liability insurance.
