MDS Assistant Responsibilities include:

Support the clinical reimbursement process by helping ensure compliance with established procedures.
Assist in maintaining the facility’s adherence to guidelines related to the Minimum Data Set (MDS), Quality Measures, Medicaid and Medicare RUGs, Medicaid Case Mix, and Medicare’s Skilled Level of Care, including required documentation.
Help review and monitor MDS assessments to ensure accurate coding that reflects each resident’s clinical condition and services provided.
Work closely with the team to identify areas for improvement and assist in implementing best practices.
Follow established MDS assessment procedures and provide support to ensure consistency and accuracy.
