Location: New York, NY
Vancro is currently seeking a full-time in-person Non-Technical Reader to support the need of one visually impaired client with the IRS in New York, NY. A reader shall provide exceptional reading, computer and communication skills within the unique environment of the IRS.
Details of the position:
Performs as the sole reader for the IRS New York, NY facility for all visually impaired employees within the IRS.
The Reader is the primary lead for Vancro. They manage the day to day reading needs for the VA supported by Vancro. The reader will perform all duties as outlined in the Performance Work Statement and as requested by the on-site Government PM or Senior staff at the location. The reader will be able to read the information in a clear and concise manner.
Responsibilities and duties:
- Complete and absolute knowledge of the English language
- Reading IRS related documents to an employee or veteran as needed
- Taking care to ensure content communication and complete understanding to the employee or veteran
- Taking care to be courteous and patient with vision-impaired employees or customers
- The reader must be capable of performing any non-technical reading assignments across various IRS computer systems and platforms as requested by the IRS.
- Possess the knowledge and experience with formatting letters, correcting forms and PDF documents, and transcribing various Word documents.
- Attend all VA meetings and conferences as requested to ensure continuity of support to vision-impaired employees or veterans
- Preferred if Reader possesses experience working with assistive technology to assist visually impaired personnel
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age
Must be able to work in a fast-paced professional environment
Must be able to project voice and read at a pace amenable to the visually impaired individual.
Must possess exceptional customer services, notetaking, attention to detail, and communication skills
This position requires a thorough background investigation
Salary : $15 - $25
