Vandalia Blacktop & Sealcoating, Inc., a reputable commercial and residential asphalt contractor serving the Miami Valley for the past 50 years.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate hand and power tools, including shovels, rakes, tampers, and compactors, to lay and compact asphalt.
- Assist in the application of asphalt, ensuring proper thickness, compaction, and drainage according to project specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient operation.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents.
- Work collaboratively with team members to complete projects on time and within budget.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with supervisors, foreman, and colleagues to coordinate tasks and resolve issues as they arise.
- Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor while representing the company, in vehicles, and when wearing company apparel when clocked out.
- Possess and maintain the physical fitness and health necessary to effectively carry out the responsibilities of this position unassisted such as operating the plate compactor, shoveling, raking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and walking long periods.
- This role requires working beyond typical hours (7am to 5pm) to meet project deadlines. Flexibility in working hours is essential as the nature of the job may extend beyond typical hours to complete a project.
