Paver Operator

Vandalia Blacktop & Sealcoating, Inc., a reputable commercial and residential asphalt contractor serving the Miami Valley for the past 50 years.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate asphalt pavers to lay down asphalt surfaces according to project specifications.
• Control the speed and direction of the paving machine to ensure proper thickness, proper lines, and smoothness of the asphalt surface.
• Check the screed in the morning before starting the paver.
• Monitor the asphalt flow, temperature, and quality during the paving process to achieve desired results.
• Coordinate with the paving crew to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.
• Perform routine maintenance on paving equipment, including cleaning, greasing, and minor repairs as needed. Report necessary repairs to your foreman so he can post it to our Whip Around app.
• Follow safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with truck drivers, foremen, supervisors, coworkers, and customers to coordinate tasks and resolve issues.
• Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor while representing the company, while driving company vehicles, and anytime when wearing company apparel.
• Possess and maintain the physical fitness and health necessary to effectively carry out the responsibilities of this position unassisted such as going up steps.
• This role, at times, requires working beyond typical hours (7am-5pm) in order to meet project deadlines. Flexibility in working hours is essential.
