The Patient Transporter plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of patients within the healthcare facility. Responsibilities
- Safely transport patients to and from designated areas within the hospital or healthcare facility.
- Assist patients with mobility needs, ensuring their comfort and safety during transport.
- Monitor patients’ conditions during transport, reporting any changes to medical staff promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of transport equipment and areas.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient transport schedules effectively.
- Provide basic life support as necessary, adhering to established protocols.
- Uphold confidentiality and respect for patient privacy at all times.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in patient care or critical care transport is preferred.
- Familiarity with hospital environments or home community care settings is advantageous.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact compassionately with patients and their families.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Physical stamina to assist in lifting or moving patients as needed.
- A valid drivers license for the State of Illinois is required.
