We are seeking a detail-oriented, reliable, and skilled Pool Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and servicing residential swimming pools. The role involves ensuring pools are clean, safe, and properly functioning by performing regular inspections, chemical treatments, equipment maintenance, and repairs.
Responsibilities
- Work independently by providing and maintaining pool and spa service contracts. Including but not limited to: Opening and closing of pools and spas, troubleshooting, replacements, repair and more.
- Perform routine pool cleaning services, including skimming debris, vacuuming pools, brushing walls, and maintaining pool surfaces.
- Test and balance pool water chemistry, adjusting chemicals as necessary to maintain optimal water quality (pH, chlorine levels, etc.).
- Inspect and maintain pool equipment such as filters, pumps, heaters, and cleaning systems to ensure proper functioning.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose pool equipment malfunctions and provide necessary repairs or recommendations for replacement.
- Install and replace pool equipment when necessary, including pumps, filters, and heaters.
- Educate customers on proper pool maintenance practices, water safety, and equipment care.
- Maintain accurate service records and report any issues or customer concerns.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to execute landscape maintenance and pool projects, ensuring timely completion within project deadlines.
- Maintain a safe, high-quality, and productive work environment at all sites and the yard.
- Participate in training and mentoring sessions to learn safe and proper methods for task execution.
- Operate various tools and equipment, both light and heavy, safely and effectively.
- Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment through regular inspections and cleaning.
- Read and interpret blueprints and structural drawings to guide work activities.
- Ensure exceptional customer service and satisfaction to help grow the business.
- Establish strong working relationships with team members to meet or exceed client expectations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a pool technician or similar role is preferred but not required. (training is available.)
- Strong knowledge of pool chemistry, equipment, and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair pool equipment.
- 0 to 3 years of experience in the landscape, plumbing, or construction industry.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent; a degree in horticulture or a related field is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL license or the ability to obtain one is a plus.
- Ability to perform regular heavy lifting, bending, and kneeling, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Proficiency in operating required equipment and tools safely.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
- Strong initiative and proactive approach to ensure outstanding customer service.
