We cultivate, harvest, and distribute five types of turfgrass from our locations in Whitakers and Spring Hope.

Position Overview:
Vandemark Sod Farm is seeking a dedicated and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator for a full-time, year-round role. This position is essential for the maintenance and expansion of our 600-acre Whitaker’s farm. The operator will work under the direction of our management team and is responsible for a variety of tasks related to road maintenance, excavating, earthwork, and slope work.

Key Responsibilities:

· Operate graders and tractors to level and load materials such as dirt and rocks.

· Operate excavators and front end loaders as required.

· Use forklifts and dump trucks to transport trash and materials.

· Conduct general site preparation, land grading, land clearing, and related assignments.

· Perform routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles, including checks on oil, water, and tires.

· Ensure proper care and maintenance of equipment and supplies while promoting workplace safety and environmental practices.

· Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned and assist with various tasks on the farm as needed.

· Maintain a strong attendance and safety record.

· Demonstrating respect and appreciation for the farming industry and our family business values.

Qualifications:

· Some experience in finish or fine grading operations.

· Must be able to run Backhoes, Excavators, Bull Dozers and additional

· Willingness and ability to be trained in all phases of company operations.

· Capability to perform some manual labor as required.

· Must be able to pass random drug testing

· Must have a valid driver license

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
