Organization : 5RW PCU Cohort 20
Job Summary : Assist with the delivery of patient care and maintenance of unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
Shift : Full-Time Night Shift - 6 : 45 pm - 7 : 15 am, three 12-hour shifts per week. All shifts rotate throughout the week, including weekends and holidays.
- NOTE : Shifts cannot be set to specific days unless the job postings lists specific days. Please take this into consideration before interviewing, especially if you have other commitments such as school (PRN not included).
Care Partner Position Qualifications :
High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience) AND one of the following :Current enrollment in a program of professional nursing RN and successful completion of the first semester of nursing school to include nursing fundamentals clinical , orGraduation from a Nursing Assistant or Aide Training Program within the past year (the certification is not mandatory but a certificate of completion is necessary), orMinimum of one year of previous ( and within the past two years ) experience as a care partner or nursing assistant / patient care technician.Sign-On Bonus Details and Requirements :
5,000 sign-on bonus. The sign-on bonus is not applicable to current VUMC staff or former staff who have worked for VUMC in the past twelve months. The sign-on bonus is only available for full-time positions.
Department / Unit Summary :
The environment in the Palliative Care Unit is dynamic, at times a bit unpredictable, and always values teamwork through an interdisciplinary approach to patient care. We care for adult patients ranging in age from 18 or older who are being treated for an extremely broad variety of medical conditions.
Our patients are unique because our primary focus is on treating patients suffering from any illness that is expected to be life-ending. We focus on symptom management, life goals, and developing plans of care that value the patients' and their families' wishes and culture.
