Job Summary :
The Pharmacy Technician Training Program is an innovative training program that is 14 weeks in length. 10 weeks will be spent in a classroom setting doing course work and simulated labs to prepare you to become a pharmacy technician. 4 weeks will be spent doing an experiential rotation at one of our many Vanderbilt pharmacies where you will have hands on learning. At the end of the program, you will be prepared to advance your career by becoming a certified Pharmacy Technician.
Key Responsibilities
- Assists the pharmacist in the preparation, dispensing and / or distribution of medications.
- Applies departmental processes regarding inventory control.
- Performs activities as directed by Pharmacists & / or Pharmacy Managers in accordance with federal, state, and local laws / regulations and hospital policies.
- Delivers outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Operates computer systems and utilizes technology.
