Job Summary
The Tax Administrative Clerk is responsible for creating a cohesiveness between the Tax Specialists and mail related duties. This position reports to the Property Tax and Insurance Tracking Team Lead and ensures the proper assignment of work received via mail, email, and fax. This position monitors correspondences between the Mail Processing Center and Tax department, processes received tax refunds, researches documents for proper assignment, prepares certified checks, ensures checks requiring special handing are mailed with correct documentation, sorts and distributes department mail, and supports the department in other various ways as needs arise.

Job Functions
Data Entry/Research
- Assists with obtaining accurate property tax checks.
- Researches potential property tax refund checks, appropriately distributes to the Property Tax department, and notifies appropriate departments.
- Performs filing duties in response to received checks and additional account documents.
- Handles accurate distribution of checks, original tax bills, and other documents to the Property Tax department.
- Assists with preparing the checks to go out to the appropriate taxing authority.
- Partners with leadership and banks for weekly certified check requests.
- Safeguards checks that require special handling and ensures mailing with correct documentation.
- Completes sorting of checks appropriately to ensure proper mailing.
- Works the Tax department email inbox to ensure accurate and efficient assignment.
- Monitors correspondences between the Mail Processing Center and the Property Tax department.

- Basic computer skills with ability to type at least 25 wpm.
- Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently via phone, email, and person to person.
- Capability of gathering facts accurately, analyzing causes, evaluating alternate solutions, and arriving at sound conclusions on action to be taken.
- Ability to manage multiple and/or conflicting responsibilities.
- Great attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.
- Will be constantly operating a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a telephone, calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
- Will be communicating 90% of the time over the phone.
