Vanderbilt Heart and Vascular Institute isseeking a full-time Advanced Heart Failure / Transplant cardiologistto join the section of Heart Failure, Mechanical CirculatorySupport and Transplant. Candidates for this position should beBoard certified (or eligible for certification) in Advanced HeartFailure and Transplant Cardiology and / or have well-establishedexpertise in the care of patients with heart failure andtransplant. Candidates from all career stations are welcomed toapply. Mid-career candidates with a minimum of 4-5 years on facultymay additionally be considered for a Director of Clinical HeartFailure position, to direct and oversee expansion and ongoingdevelopment of our rapidly growing inpatient and outpatient heartfailure programs. The Director of Clinical Heart Failure willreport to the Section Director for Heart Failure &Transplantation. All candidates should be enthusiastic aboutjoining a busy academic program that values multidisciplinaryclinical care, medical education and research.
Based in Nashville, Tennessee, and withsatellite locations throughout the region, Vanderbilt's HeartFailure / Transplant Program includes 14 heart failure / transplantcardiologists, 6 heart transplant / VAD surgeons and a large team ofheart failure nurses and advanced practice providers. The HF andcardiomyopathy clinics, including subspecialty clinics in cardiacamyloid, cardiac sarcoid and genetic cardiomyopathy, conduct nearly11,000 visits annually and help to support one of the highestvolume heart transplant programs in the world.
