Proficient in utilizing BI tools to satisfy end user data needs. Performs Data Analysis functions. Implements small projects or components of large projects. Ability to solve medium to complex problems..JOB SUMMARYSupport Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s Health Information Management (HIM) leadership by developing business intelligence (BI) reporting and dashboard tools that support the goal of documentation and coding accuracy. Produce regular and ad-hoc reports that drive leadership decisions and allow stakeholders to assess and revise processes as needed. Apply sound judgment and analytical skills to ensure accurate and useful results.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESWork closely with key stakeholders to assess data need and the appropriate deliverable for the needDevelop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to support business decision-makingProduce both regular and ad-hoc reports as neededMaintain documentation of processes and reportingUtilize MS SQL Server along with Databricks and / or Tableau for data extraction and analysis.Use data visualization tools to present data in an easily understandable formatEnsure data accuracy and consistency in reportingManage BI projects, including requirements gathering, planning, execution, and deliveryWork on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlinesTECHNICAL CAPABILITIESRequired SkillsIntermediate SQL skills to extract, manipulate, and analyze data primarily leveraging Epic’s Clarity data model and other HIM internal and external sources.Experience in BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Cognos AnalyticsKnowledge of report and dashboard development using database management systems such as SQL Server and DatabricksExcellent verbal and written communication skillsIntermediate use of ExcelEpic’s Revenue Data Model certification required within the first year of employmentPreferred SkillsEpic experienceMinimum Education and Experience RequirementsBachelor's Degree4 years of relevant experience, healthcare experience preferredOur professional administrative functions include critical supporting roles in information technology and informatics, finance, administration, legal and community affairs, human resources, communications and marketing, development, facilities, and many more.At our growing health system, we support each other and encourage excellence among all who are part of our workforce.
