Position Summary:

VUMC TempForce has opportunities for Temperature Screeners. As a temperature screener you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for greeting employees, patients and visitors. You will administer temperature checks using established protocols. Temperature Screeners will make sure all employees, visitors and patients are wearing a mask. They will also be responsible for visitation management- currently clinics are allowing one visitor per patient and the hospitals are allowing two. This is a position where you must be comfortable dealing with the public and conversing with patients and guests.

Department Summary:

Vanderbilt University Medical Center TempForce (TempForce) was created to connect temporary talent to all areas of VUMC. TempForce places diverse and skilled personnel to departments across the Medical Center. In any given year, TempForce fills a wide variety of temporary requests including pharmacists, administrative/clerical roles, medical assistants and more.

Length of Assignment:

  • Six to twelve months (could possibly be longer)

Position Shift:

  • M-F **Must be available to work daily M-F**
  • 6:30am- 3:00pm
  • No weekends required

Position Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED with <1 year experience required (or equivalent experience) (Required)

Physical Requirements/Strengths needed & Physical Demands:

  • Sedentary category requiring exertion up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and uses negligible amounts of force to move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.

  • Occasional: Lifting under 35 lbs: Raising and lowering objects under 35 lbs from one level to another

  • Occasional: Reaching above shoulders: Extending arms in any direction above shoulders.
  • Frequent: Sitting: Remaining in seated position
  • Frequent: Reaching below shoulders: Extending arms in any direction below shoulders.
  • Frequent: Fingering: Picking, pinching, gripping, working primarily with fingers requiring fine manipulation.
  • Frequent: Bimanual Dexterity: Requiring the use of both hands.
  • Continuous: Communication: Expressing or exchanging written/verbal/electronic information.
  • Continuous: Auditory: Perceiving the variances of sounds, tones and pitches and able to focus on single source of auditory information
  • Continuous: Vision: Clarity of near vision at 20 inches or less and far vision at 20 feet or more with depth perception, peripheral vision, color vision.
  • Continuous: Smell: Ability to detect and identify odors.
  • Occasional: Chemicals and Gasses: Medications, cleaning chemicals, oxygen, other medical gases used in work area.
