POSTED ON 1/28/2025
AVAILABLE BEFORE 2/26/2025

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at Vanderbilt University invites applications for a full-time Professor of the Practice faculty position in Environmental Engineering. The appointment will be made at the assistant professor, associate professor or full professor level depending on experience and qualifications of the successful candidate. Ideal qualifications include a Ph.D. degree in environmental engineering (or closely related field), prior teaching experience, professional experience, and professional engineering licensure (or a plan to sit for the PE exam). This is a term appointment, eligible for renewal, contingent on performance.

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate core courses with the opportunity to teach upper level courses, and will develop additional courses as the curriculum evolves under the new vision for environmental engineering. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth of this program in the coming years. Furthermore, Vanderbilt University recently launched a discovery center on Sustainability, Energy and Climate to address pressing challenges in these areas of clear and immediate societal need. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the educational mission of this center. Teaching faculty will also participate in service to the department and the school of engineering, engaging in novel efforts to broaden participation, and deepen undergraduate research opportunities.

Applications should include a full CV, cover letter, personal statement, statement of teaching experience and interests, instructor evaluations (if applicable), as well as three reference letters and the names and email addresses of three references. Applications should be submitted on-line at: http://apply.interfolio.com/160855. For more information on the department, please visit the departmental websites at http://vu.edu/cee.
