Position Summary:
The Vandy Thrift Store will be an extension of our Career Center in effort to have an outlet for our individuals to utilize the tools and skills learned and apply them in the retail community. Part Time position.
Primary Duties & Essential Functions:
- Train new clients, volunteers and employees on store operations & Square Point of Sale
System. - Responsible for overseeing Cash Drawer and working closing with Finance Department,
submitting deposits and receipt. - Overseeing employee timesheets, store expenses, maintenance requests and supply orders.
- Develop and maintain a schedule for employees and use volunteer link to sign up volunteers.
- Ensure the store remains clean and presentable at all times.
- Oversee seasonal displays and inventory.
- Work collaboratively with the investor volunteer that was instrumental in establishing the
thrift store.
Required Education, Knowledge and Skills:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- Retail experience.
- Supervisory experience.
- Must be very patient as you will be working with clients with developmental disabilities.
- Must be able to pass background test.
Abilities and Working Conditions:
- Excellent verbal/written communication and organizational skills.
- Understands the importance of Customer Service.
- Sound understanding of mathematics and strong reading comprehension skills.
- Ability to maneuver up to 25lbs regularly.
- Bending, stooping, extended reaching, and step stools while placing merchandise throughout the store and assisting Customers.
- Ability to operate POS System - be familiar with Square Register.
Pay: $23.00 an hour
