Description
The DSP is responsible for assisting individuals in identifying and / or acquiring skills to be as independent as possible and establish an environment that provides safety and skill enhancement. Responsibilities include maintaining an environment of care that is safe & therapeutic, providing direct care to individuals per agency policy, implementing appropriate supervision to assigned daily schedules, dispensing medication per agency policy, and safely transporting individuals as assigned per level of supervision required.
Requirements
Required Education, Knowledge, and Skills :
- High school diploma or equivalent required, Associate's degree preferred
- Valid NYS driver's license
- SCIP training will be provided; must attend refresher training and maintain certification
- Other trainings will also be provided
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds
