- Oversees daily Day Program operations including assigning Clinician caseloads, ensuring timely completion of case records and progress monitoring, monitoring other documentation as necessary (e.g., BSPs, student photos, Master Sanctuary Safety Plan document, etc.),
- Participates in the intake and planning process which includes reviewing pre-placement.
- Provides individual, family and group therapy to all individuals assigned to them and provides crisis interventions as needed as per IEP.
- Provides assessment and treatment planning for all assigned individuals.
- Coordinates clinical and related support services with all internal and external service providers and makes referrals to community resources as needed.
- Schedules, facilitates and documents necessary clinical/provider meetings.
- Works in conjunction with appropriate Vanderheyden school staff to monitor and improve individual's academic performance, school behavior, attendance, and positive social emotional growth.
- Completes and maintains accurate documentation according to agency/department standards pertaining to progress/case notes, biopsychosocial reports, recommendation letters for court/referral source, IEP counseling goals, etc.
- Participates in supervision.
- Primary Liaison with Education Administration.
- Maintains open communication with home district committee on Special Education Chairperson regarding the process and performance of their students.
- Performs on-call consultation as assigned.
- Assumes responsibilities that belong to all education staff members as participation in the behavior management program, insuring the health, safety and supervision of students and enforcing the Student Handbook and Code of Conduct.
- Participates fully and effectively in agency committees, meetings and/or teams as assigned.
- Acts as a Liaison and/or representatives for the agency and individuals served at case conferences, Committee on Special Education Reviews, etc.
- Assists and participates in activities, which improve the clinical, physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of students.
- Oversees timely completion and documentation of three (3) times yearly Abuse and Neglect Psychoeducation Groups with students.
- Monitors and maintains records regarding appropriate consents for all Day Program Students.
- Works with School Nurse to obtain up-to-date student physicals and immunizations in a timely manner.
- Oversees organized and timely dissemination of Education Program information to parents and guardians, school districts, CSE chairpersons, and transportation providers as necessary.
- Cooperates with Education Administration and oversees Day Program Clinicians in providing appropriate supervision of all students as necessary.
- Other duties as necessary.
- Compliance with STAC documentation.
- Supervision of graduate interns.
- Master's degree from an accredited program in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Rehabilitation counseling or related areas required.
- Four (4) years' experience with at-risk youth and/or youth with special education and mental health needs preferred.
- Relevant licensure.
- Three years of tenure with agency and in good standing.
- Must be available to work a 40-hour work week.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds
- Must be able to stand and run for moderate periods of time.
- Must have a valid NYS driver's license.
- Must be able to perform restraints and maintains TCI certification.
- Willingness to respond to the needs of a culturally diverse population.
