Job Description:
The Administrator on Duty (AOD) plays a critical role in supporting the Director of the Residential Treatment Center in achieving agency and departmental goals. This position serves as the on-call behavior management support staff for the program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the quality of safety to meet Vanderheyden's standards
- Monitor day-to-day operations of the program, Wednesday through Saturday, 3pm-11pm schedule
Primary Duties & Essential Functions:
- Maintain a sound working knowledge of all program standards (OCFS, OPWDD, CSE, and HIPPA)
- Recognize, evaluate, and develop responses to divisional needs
- Ensure the safety, security, and behavioral management of the division, making decisions according to Agency Policy
- Verify staffing standards adhere to regulatory requirements
- Assign and reassign staff based on individual unit needs
- Notify the Vice President of Quality Assurance of allegations of abuse
- E nsure operational policies are followed and adhered to
- Collaborate with the Activities Coordinator and Recreation department to incorporate recreational and community activities into daily schedules
- Conduct briefings for incoming and outgoing Administrators on Duty
- Complete end-of-month paperwork and ensure proper routing
- Conduct quarterly fire drills within units
- Understand and maintain union contractual agreements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Minimum two years' experience in a supervisory role
- Ability to manage time and workload effectively
- Problem-solving skills
- Effective communication, both orally and in writing
Abilities and Working Conditions:
- Must be available to work a minimum 40-hour work week
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds
- Must be able to stand and run for moderate periods
- Must have a valid driver's license with a clean MVR
- Must be able to perform physical interventions and maintain TCI certification
- Willingsness to respond to the needs of a culturally diverse population
