Director of Sales:
Our client is seeking a Director of Sales to lead their sales team in shaping and driving outbound sales strategies. This key leadership role will focus on developing and executing strategies to support company growth, overseeing the sales team's performance, and implementing effective sales processes.
The Director of Sales will be responsible for establishing new KPIs, improving forecasting and reporting, and fostering a sales culture focused on hunting rather than passive sales. This position will report to senior leadership and collaborate with various departments to align sales strategies with overall business goals.
This role is a hybrid model in Wilsonville, Oregon.
Director of Sales Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of outbound sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets across multiple regions and product lines.
- Oversee the sales team, providing coaching and development opportunities to promote a high-performance culture.
- Set new KPIs and sales goals to drive performance and accountability within the team.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to create and maintain a long-term sales strategy that aligns with company objectives.
- Manage the sales forecasting process and ensure accuracy in predicting sales performance for both new and existing accounts.
- Implement a comprehensive sales training program to equip the team with the necessary tools and techniques for success.
- Monitor and report on sales metrics to assess the performance and effectiveness of sales strategies.
- Ensure alignment between sales strategies and marketing efforts to maximize impact and achieve company goals.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with customers to ensure the company's competitive edge and support growth.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key customers and vendors to drive business development.
- Lead the implementation and adoption of CRM software (Salesforce) to streamline sales processes and improve data-driven decision-making.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to leverage insights for strategic growth opportunities.
Director of Sales Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in sales management, preferably within the wholesale food and beverage distribution industry.
- Proven experience in leading a sales team and driving performance, ideally managing a team of 10 or more people.
- Strong experience with B2B sales and a deep understanding of the wholesale food, beverage, and alcohol mixers industries.
- Expertise in Salesforce and a strong command of CRM tools to manage sales processes effectively.
- Demonstrated success in contract negotiation and maintaining long-term, strategic partnerships.
- Solid knowledge of foodservice, beverage, and regulatory industry trends.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a focus on coaching, collaboration, and achieving business goals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to resolve conflicts and manage diverse perspectives.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to develop reliable sales forecasts and performance models.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage competing deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- A willingness to travel nationally based on business needs.
