IT Business Relationship Manager
Our client is seeking an experienced IT Business Relationship Manager (BRM) to join their team. The IT BRM will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between IT and various business units, ensuring technology solutions align with strategic goals and maximize value. This position requires a collaborative leader who can facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders while enhancing the alignment between IT initiatives and business objectives.
This role is a hybrid model in Sacramento, California.
IT Business Relationship Manager Responsibilities:
- Serve as a strategic liaison between IT and assigned business units to align technology solutions with business needs.
- Collaborate with IT leadership, PMO, business stakeholders, and subject matter experts to ensure technology requirements are effectively met.
- Facilitate clear communication between IT and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex IT concepts into understandable language.
- Drive collaboration across departments to enhance technology adoption and utilization.
- Identify challenges in IT-business alignment, propose solutions, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the development of IT strategies that align with business objectives and industry trends.
- Foster strong relationships with stakeholders at all organizational levels, building trust and ensuring collaborative problem-solving.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and IT infrastructure to guide informed decision-making.
IT Business Relationship Manager Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT business relationship management or a related role.
- Proven ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and actively listen to business needs.
- Strong understanding of business operations, industry trends, and strategic planning.
- Experience with IT infrastructure, systems, and emerging technologies.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on improving IT-business processes.
- Familiarity with network, server, and database systems for technical discussions.
- Experience working within frameworks like ITIL for service delivery and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and their integration with business processes.
Preferred:
- Experience with strategic portfolio management and understanding of current technology trends.
- Proven ability to facilitate consensus among departments with differing technology objectives.
- Experience managing resource constraints and identifying critical paths for strategic technology decisions.
- Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall project delivery methodologies.
- Knowledge of the utility industry and the systems that support it is a plus.
