Managed Care Billing Specialist (Medi-Cal)
Our client seeks a dedicated and detail-oriented Billing Specialist specializing in Medi-Cal and Managed Care Billing/Follow-Up to support their team! The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a thorough understanding of Medi-Cal billing requirements, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of patient accounts.
Managed Care Billing Specialist Responsibilities
- Manage timely billing, collections, and follow-up for Medi-Cal inpatient/outpatient accounts.
- Identify and process write-offs, resolve credit balances, and ensure compliance with billing requirements.
- Perform coding edits and ensure all necessary billing documentation is accurate.
- Handle secondary insurance billing and follow-up for unpaid balances.
- Respond promptly to communications from Medi-Cal/Managed Medi-Cal Health Plans.
- High school diploma or GED. required.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Medi-Cal billing and follow-up.
- Familiarity with CMS billing regulations and Managed Care requirements.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and hospital systems for reporting and payer communication.
- Strong decision-making, communication, and mathematical skills.
