Node.js / React Engineer
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Node.js/React Engineer to join their team in advancing sustainability initiatives, with a strong focus on reducing plastic and waste. This role offers an opportunity to work on backend and full-stack challenges, contributing to meaningful environmental impact while leveraging cutting-edge technology.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using Node.js and React.
- Partner with team leads to enhance backend infrastructure, with a focus on data management, automated testing, and system reliability.
- Implement modern development and build strategies, including microservices architecture, serverless computing (AWS Lambdas), and containerized applications (Docker, ECS).
- Drive continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) processes to ensure robust software deployment.
- Optimize code for performance, scalability, and sustainability, following industry best practices in software design.
- Solve complex technical problems, recommend improvements, and anticipate challenges in infrastructure and deployment.
- Maintain and deploy services using AWS, GitHub, Jenkins, Terraform, AWS Lambdas, and ECS/Docker.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into clear technical designs and agile execution.
Qualifications
- Preference for candidates with significant time in prior roles (5 years of experience in senior engineering positions is ideal).
- Proven experience as a full-stack engineer with expertise in Node.js and React.
- Strong background in backend development, data infrastructure, automated testing, and deployment automation.
- Hands-on experience with modern development tools and methodologies, including microservices, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS cloud services.
- Proficient in data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
- Demonstrated ability to work in cloud environments, specifically AWS, with deployment and infrastructure management tools like Jenkins, GitHub, Terraform, AWS Lambdas, and ECS.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and mitigate challenges.
- Effective communicator with a knack for translating complex technical requirements into actionable development plans.
