Senior Apparel Designer Responsibilities
- Lead the technical development of apparel from concept through production, ensuring fit, construction, and manufacturing feasibility.
- Create and maintain detailed tech packs, including measurements, construction sketches, and material specifications.
- Conduct and lead fit sessions, providing expert recommendations on pattern adjustments and construction improvements.
- Partner closely with design, product management, and factory teams to drive on-time product delivery.
- Utilize 3D software (such as Optitex or CLO 3D) to enhance the development process and improve visualization of designs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve construction challenges, offering practical solutions to ensure quality and consistency.
- Stay informed on industry trends, materials, and manufacturing innovations to optimize development processes.
- 3-5 years of experience in technical apparel design, with expertise in cut-and-sew, knits, and woven sportswear.
- Strong pattern-making skills and in-depth knowledge of garment construction techniques.
- Experience with the full apparel development lifecycle, including costing, manufacturing, print techniques, embroidery, and machinery.
- Proficiency in 3D apparel software (Optitex, CLO 3D) and Adobe Illustrator.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Apparel Design, Pattern Making, Textile Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
