Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Conventional Lathe Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating large lathes and have a strong background in machining and manufacturing. Duties
- Operate conventional lathes to produce precision parts and components according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and manufacturing documents.
- Set up and calibrate lathes to ensure accurate and efficient production.
- Use hand tools and press to install components and perform finishing operations.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure products meet quality and safety standards.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to keep the production line running smoothly.
- Load and unload parts from lathes using a overhead crane or other heavy machinery.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Collaborate with other team members to meet production deadlines and improve manufacturing processes.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience as a conventional lathe operator or in a related machining role.
- Basic math skills to calculate dimensions and angles.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of welding and ability to weld components as needed.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new manufacturing processes and technologies.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately and efficiently.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet production deadlines.
Skills
