Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and results-driven Insurance Account Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing client accounts, providing exceptional customer service, and driving sales growth within the insurance sector. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a deep understanding of insurance products, enabling them to build lasting relationships with clients while ensuring their needs are met.
This is a full-time role for an Account Manager at VANGUARD BENEFIT SOLUTIONS, LLC in New City, NY. The job can be partly or fully remote for a qualified candidate. The job entails handling adds/terms/changes on the various insurance websites. Working with TPA's to assist with administering COBRA, reconciling open enrollment spreadsheets with the carriers. You will also assist clients with claims and billing issues. You must have familiarity with benefits administration -- particularly, bene admin portals - like Employee Navigator and Ease.
Duties
- Manage and maintain a portfolio of client accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Conduct regular follow-ups with clients to assess their insurance needs and recommend appropriate products.
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop strategies for increasing market share and improving account retention.
- Provide expert guidance on insurance policies, benefits administration, and claims processes.
- Assist clients in understanding their coverage options and help them make informed decisions.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and transactions in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in outside sales activities to expand the client base and promote new insurance products.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to provide knowledgeable service.
Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of three years experience in a similar job
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills is a must
- Knowledge of insurance products and services - specifically, NY and NJ small group carriers -- although we work in many other states, those are the primary ones.
- Must have experience working in benefit admin portals: Ease, Employee Navigator, and/or Bernie Portal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft products
- Proficiency in CRM software - we use Salesforce
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field
- Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse clientele.
- Familiarity with benefits administration and HIPAA compliance is highly desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients quickly.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple accounts.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
