What are the responsibilities and job description for the In-House Substitute Teacher Pool East/West (2025-26 school year) position at Vanguard Classical School?

Your responsibilities will include:
- Creating a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Implementing the Core Knowledge Curriculum Sequence using classical teaching methods to engage students in meaningful learning experiences.
- Developing and delivering lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Assessing student progress and maintaining accurate gradebooks to track academic achievement.
- Providing timely feedback to students and parents to support academic growth and development.
- Fostering a culture of respect, responsibility, and integrity by enforcing school rules and expectations of honor, achievement, world citizenship, and kindness.
- Collaborating with colleagues, parents, and administrators to support the overall success of the school community.
- Participating in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational trends and best practices.
- Classroom, lunchroom, and playground
- Must be able to push, pull, lift 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and be able to speak to a child at his or her eye level, which may include squatting or sitting on the ground
- Occasional handling of field trip, classroom, book, or fundraising money
- Daily decisions regarding curriculum implementation
- Responsible for maintaining confidentiality regarding all students
- Bachelors degree required
- Colorado Teacher License or have the ability to obtain an initial, professional, or alternative CO teaching license
- Outstanding organizational skills and high attention to detail
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
- Strong work ethic with an enthusiastic and passionate approach to the teaching craft
- Commitment to the belief that all students can learn and to the mission of educational equity
- Ability to use technology seamlessly.
- Charter school awareness or experience - preferred
- A strong liberal-arts education - a plus
- Experience with the Core Knowledge Sequence and Classical Education - preferred
