What are the responsibilities and job description for the 6th Grade Instructor | Middle School Math and Science Teacher position at Vanguard College Prep School ISD?
This full-time position is responsible for teaching 6th grade math and 6th grade Life Science. This is a
co-teaching assignment in partnership with an ELAR and World Cultures teacher. The ideal candidate works
well as part of a team and utilizes best practices in a creative and project-based learning environment with an
emphasis on developing curiosity and critical thinking in students. Benefits and competitive pay. Opportunities

Key Responsibilities:
● Plan and deliver engaging lessons that align with curriculum standards for 6th grade math and Life
Science.
● Foster a classroom environment that promotes problem-solving, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry.
● Establish and maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture.
● Utilize hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences, including labs, projects, and real-world
applications
● Assess/monitor student progress through assignments, projects, tests, and other formative and
summative assessments.
● Integrate technology, interactive tools, and project-based learning to enhance learning.
● Provide regular communication with students, parents, and colleagues regarding academic progress
and classroom expectations.
● Collaborate with fellow faculty and staff to enhance curriculum and school programs.
● Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
● Serve as a mentor or advisor to students, fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom culture.
● Support extracurricular programs through coaching, club sponsorship, or other leadership roles
(optional).
Preferred Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree and grade level certification
● Experience teaching middle school students, with a strong understanding of adolescent learning.
● Ability to create engaging and differentiated lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning styles.
● Strong classroom management skills and a student-centered teaching approach.
● Models and guides proper behaviors
● Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
