Software Business Analyst/Manual Tester, for multi-year project with our Federal Government client.

This position is (100% remote) for long term five year project with our Federal Government project.

Excellent opportunity for an experienced Business Analyst/QA Tester to join our team supporting a very large Federal Government client. Vanguard DevOps is looking for an analytical, results-driven professional to join our team as a Business Analyst/QA Tester. Duties include requirements gathering, creating user stories with acceptance criteria in Jira, writing functional and business requirements, creating data requirements matrices, writing and performing test cases to include functional testing, system testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing, creating technical documentation such as user manuals, and performing client demos to support a team developing and delivering web based software using an agile delivery processes. As a Business Analyst, you will apply your knowledge of requirements gathering, testing support, and agile processes to build and enhance existing government platforms.

Candidates for this role must be proficient in both Business Analysis/Requirements and Manual Software Quality Assurance (QA) Testing

Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or green card holder having lived in the U.S. continuously for more than 5 years. (no H1B or H4 visa)
• 2 years work experience related to requirements gathering and software application testing

Responsibilities:

Business Requirements Analysis

• Meet with the product owner(s), and stake holders to elicit system requirements and develop and document requirements
• Create User Stories and acceptance criteria in Jira
• Elaborate on system designs, flows, and usability through the creation of wireframes and mockups
• Perform gap analyses of the differences between current (as-is) and targeted (to-be) states
• Assist in writing technical documentation such as user manuals
• Conduct application demos, and end-user training

Software Quality Assurance (QA) Testing

• Development of test procedures, test cases (frontend, backend, and integration), test plans, requirements traceability, schedules, and test reports
• Review and execute test plans and scripts
• Perform web application functional testing and regression testing
• Track test results and defect fixes in Jira
• Work with development teams and Project Managers to resolve test defects
• Ensure compliance with test processes and procedures
• Coordinate, execute, document, and report on test activities required to support the integration and systems interfaces
• Estimate level of effort based upon tasks and responsibilities specific to tester functions

Required Skills and Experience

• Experience writing functional and business requirements and creating data requirements matrices
• Experience using Jira to create user stories and acceptance criteria and track test results
• Experience writing and performing manual test cases to include functional testing, system testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing
• Must have exceptional attention to detail to ensure requirements are captured and documented accurately
• Experience planning, implementing and executing software testing processes
• Possesses good communication, analytical, and writing skills.
• Proven ability to work both individually and in a team-oriented environment
• Experience working on a scrum team and in a Agile/Scrum environment
• Experience supporting government agencies, specifically NOAA
