Cost Engineer
Vanguard Energy Partners seeks a Cost Engineer with a passion for Construction Finance and a desire to assist the Construction Operations team and Senior Management to successfully manage high quality and profitable projects! With direction from the Project Managers, the Cost Engineer will help ensure project’s budgets and costs are accurately reported and forecasted. Successful candidates will be detail oriented, organized, possess strong mathematical and analytical skills, and have a minimum four-year degree or equivalent construction industry experience.
Job Responsibilities
The Cost Engineer typically reports to the “TBD”.As a member of the Construction Operations team, they will provide support to the financial management of construction projects as well as producing monthly and ad-hoc financial reports to senior management.
- Monitor and audit the cost / budget reports on assigned projects including but not limited to the Monthly Cost Report, Project Cash Flow Forecast, and Risk and Opportunities Report.
- Work with Estimating and Operations to set up Original Budget upload and Financial Reporting templates.
- Attend and participate in weekly / monthly financial review and job report meetings.
- Support operations with any change management or budget report related issues.
- Provide regular feedback and analysis in properly identifying and closing out projects along with Accounting and Operations, with a focus on Contract Reconciliations.
- Update financial information required for Monthly Job Report Meetings for review in a timely manner prior to scheduled meeting with upper management.
- Assist in the Invoice review process to ensure cost coding is accurate, and advise Accounting on reclass / journal entries as necessary.
- Attend all mandatory and recommended training and professional development programs.
- Assist in testing and developing new financial reporting templates.
