GRINDER

Position Responsibilities:

• Grind and smooth frames to ensure even surfaces and proper finishing.
• Remove excess staples, nails, and rough edges from frames.
• Inspect frames to ensure they meet quality and specification standards.
• Maintain and properly use grinding tools, hand tools, and other equipment.
• Report any defects, quality issues, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
• Organize and maintain tools and supplies at the end of each shift.
• Clean and maintain workstations, tools, and equipment to comply with safety regulations.
• Wear required safety glasses, footwear, and other protective gear; work safely and report any unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
• Perform other duties as required by the supervisor.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Ability to learn quickly and recognize different frame types and components.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure consistent quality.
• Basic understanding of correct frame positioning and alignment.
   
   

Valued but not Required Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience in woodworking, grinding, or furniture assembly.
• Familiarity with power tools and grinding equipment.

Physical demands and work environment:

• Lift / Carry: Frequently lifting less than 20 lbs.; occasionally lifting in excess of 50 lbs.; team lift greater weights.     Must be able to lift/remove frame from stock racks and push to holding area.
• Standing: Must be able to stand 8 hours.

• Reach / Handle / Grasp: Repetitive use of hands required to pull stock.
• Climbing: Must be able to climb ladder to access storage bins to place or remove parts.
• Tools: Must be certified to operate forklift to reach higher stock elevations.
• Environment: Indoors, environmentally controlled; heated.
• Automation: Provided scissor lift for positioning.
• Near Acuity: Requires close vision of less than 3 feet, with or without corrective lenses, for precision.
