Position Summary:
The Cushion Filler / Utility Worker is responsible for filling cushions, handling heavy lifting, and
assisting with various utility tasks as needed. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail,
and flexibility to support different areas of production.
Position Responsibilities:
· Fill cushions according to specifications, ensuring proper density and quality.
· Handle, lift, and move heavy cushions and materials throughout the production area.
· Assist in various utility tasks, including material handling, loading, and staging.
· Inspect cushions for defects and report any quality issues to the supervisor.
· Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools and equipment.
· Follow all safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques and use of protective gear.
· Assist other departments as needed to maintain production flow and efficiency.
· Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Essential Skills and Experience:
· Ability to perform heavy lifting and repetitive tasks.
· Strong attention to detail and quality control.
· Willingness to assist in different areas of production as needed.
Valued but Not Required Skills and Experience:
· Previous experience in furniture manufacturing or cushion filling.
· Forklift certification or experience handling large materials.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
· Lift / Carry: Frequently lifting less than 20 lbs.; occasionally lifting in excess of 50 lbs.; team lift greater weights. Must be able to lift/remove frame from stock racks and push to holding area. · Standing: Must be able to stand 8 hours.
· Reach / Handle / Grasp: Repetitive use of hands required to pull stock.
· Climbing: Must be able to climb ladder to access storage bins to place or remove parts.
· Tools: Must be certified to operate forklift to reach higher stock elevations.
· Environment: Indoors, environmentally controlled; heated.
· Automation: Provided scissor lift for positioning.
· Near Acuity: Requires close vision of less than 3 feet, with or without corrective lenses, for
precision.
