What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patent Attorney/Agent position at Vanguard-IP?
REQUIREMENTS- U.S. Juris Doctorate Degree for Attorney candidates.- Admission to the District of Columbia Bar is expected if not currently admitted for Attorney candidates.- Candidates should possess an undergraduate degree or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or similar background.- Experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications is also required.- Experience in drafting patentability, non-infringement, and invalidity opinions, as well as general client counseling in Intellectual Property issues, is considered a plus.- Experience practicing patent law and proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others on complex matters.- Demonstrated experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications.- Strong legal writing skills are essential.- Excellent communication skills are essential, both written and oral.- Consistently excellent judgment is essential.- Must be a self-starter, have the ability to prioritize workload, and work well under pressure.- Possessing strong analytical skills is essential.- Industry, court clerk, and / or USPTO examiner experience desirable.- Experience and skill in analyzing patents is strongly preferred.SUMMARYVanguard Intellectual Partners (Vanguard-IP) specializes in the placement of IP / Patent professionals nationwide.
