Vanguard Research & Title Services, Inc. is a full-service title insurance agency and title research provider headquartered in Syracuse, NY. We specialize in mid-market residential and commercial real estate sale and finance transactions, municipal, industrial, and large-scale energy projects involving real estate collateral all across New York State.
We are currently looking to expand our direct operations through the addition of a Title Processor, Post-Closing specialist to assist our post-closing team. This is an administrative position primarily in support of our title insurance department. The team member hired to this role would be based in our Oswego, NY office, but would routinely interface with the main back-office team located in Syracuse, NY.
This is a full-time, benefits-eligible role, based in our Oswego, NY office. A part-time, or hybrid remote work option may be considered for the right candidate.
Role Summary
The Title Processor, Post-closing specialist primarily serves the title insurance team, and by extension, end consumers requesting title insurance products through general support in the "post-closing" stage of a real estate settlement transaction. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Education
Previous experience in title insurance and real estate settlement is helpful but not required. Minimum education level required: High School diploma or GED and 5 years experience in professional office environments; OR, Associates Degree and 3-5 years experience in professional office environments.

The Title Processor, Post-closing specialist primarily serves the title insurance team, and by extension, end consumers requesting title insurance products through general support in the "post-closing" stage of a real estate settlement transaction. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Interacting with customers and their attorney representatives regarding status and issue resolution for title insurance files;
- Reviewing open title insurance files for accuracy and completeness, taking action to address items that may prevent the file from closing;
- Preparing and issuing "final" title insurance policies per Company underwriting guidelines;
- Assisting with routine audits by Underwriters and State regulators;
- Other duties as requested or assigned by management;
