Our client, a boutique law firm representing top technology companies in areas such as cybersecurity, privacy, government surveillance, alternative data, litigation, and fantasy sports, is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal for their DC office. This role involves providing legal support to attorneys.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with all phases of the litigation process, including investigation, discovery, arbitration, mediation, and trial preparation.
- Draft, proofread, and format pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and other legal documents.
- Manage the discovery process, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
- Bluebook, cite- and fact-check, proofread motions, pleadings, and other memoranda.
- Prepare and electronically file motions, pleadings, and other documents in accordance with local rules.
- Track and docket case deadlines.
- Maintain and organize case files, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
- Review and summarize documents and prepare document productions.
- Conduct legal and factual research using tools like Westlaw and PACER.
- Create, edit, process, and prepare documents for production to regulators, law enforcement, or opposing counsel, including finalizing document sets for client review and transmittal.
- Research and accurately apply federal and state court local rules, and act as a reliable resource regarding their application.
- Organize, manage, and update filings and client documents.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program required.
- 5 years of litigation paralegal experience in civil litigation, preferably in a large or mid-size law firm or corporation.
- Proficient in litigation support software (e.g., cloud-based discovery databases) and document management systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe.
- Strong understanding of federal and state court rules and procedures.
- The ability to manage relationships and communicate efficiently and professionally with attorneys, clients, and prospective clients.
- Possess exceptional attention to detail and sound judgment.
- Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum direction, follow up on own initiative.
Salary : $100,000 - $140,000
