POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking an enthusiastic Recruitment Coordinator to join our Graduate and Professional Education Enrollment team. As a Recruitment Coordinator you will play a pivotal role in the presentation of the University's name and array of programs to prospective students. Your primary focus will be on representing the university at in-person or online events, connecting with prospective students, and accurately conveying program offerings. The Recruitment Coordinator also helps to establish partnerships with local community colleges, businesses, or key stakeholders. This position reports directly to the Director of Admissions & Recruitment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Community Centered:

  • Reflect and promote the mission, vision, and identity of Vanguard University.
  • Participate in the university community building partnerships with key stakeholders across the various schools, departments, and support systems.

Valued Engagement:

  • Build meaningful relationships with prospective students through various communication channels, such as phone calls, emails, virtual meetings, and in-person interactions.
  • Listen actively to their concerns, goals, and aspirations.
  • Help to identify their individual motivations, challenges, goals.
  • Tailor program information and resources to address specific needs and interests that demonstrate a genuine commitment to their success.

Holistic Enrollment Support:

  • Collaborate with other members of the Graduate Enrollment Team to provide a seamless and holistic enrollment experience.
  • Work closely with admissions counselors, academic advisors, financial aid representatives, and other stakeholders to ensure that each student's journey is supported from initial inquiry to enrollment.

Program Knowledge:

  • Develop a deep understanding of our graduate and professional programs, curriculum, and unique features.
  • Articulate how each program aligns with the diverse needs of adult learners and equips them with the skills needed to excel in their chosen fields.

Admissions Guidance:

  • Provide comprehensive guidance to prospective students regarding the admissions process, application requirements, deadlines, and necessary documents.
  • Offer clear and accurate information to ensure a smooth handoff to the admissions counselors.

Funnel Management:

  • Maintain accurate and organized records of interactions with prospective students using CRM system.
  • Provide regular updates on prospective student progress and engagement to the admissions team.

Events:

  • Participate in off-site, virtual, and on-campus recruitment events, open houses, information sessions, and workshops to engage with prospective students and provide them with insights into our programs and student experience.
  • Build relationships with transfer centers at community colleges, local businesses, and essential markets to drive connection with the university and increase inquiry engagement.

Continuous Learning:

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, program updates, and best practices in adult student recruitment and enrollment.
  • Proactively seek opportunities for professional development to enhance counseling skills.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience: Familiarity with admissions, enrollment, or student recruitment, preferably in a higher education setting.

  • Ability to learn marketing and sales principles in alignment with the role.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to connect with adult learners from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • Empathetic listener who can understand and address individual needs and concerns effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with exceptional time management skills that can work autonomously or with a team.
  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for events and outreach efforts.

  • Reflect, articulate, and promote the mission, vision, and identity of the University.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Education and Experience:

  • Experience in admissions, enrollment, or student recruitment in a higher education setting.

Key Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

  • Proficient in sales, marketing and building content on various platforms to showcase product.
  • Working knowledge of Canva or other collateral building platforms.
  • Knowledge of how to effectively support adult learners and university offices.
  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in CRM systems (Recruit, Slate, or Salesforce).

SALARY:

Salary Range: $20.00 to $25.00 / hour

Placement within the salary range is commensurate upon education and experience. Placement at the upper range is reserved for those that demonstrate the highest level of education and experience necessary for this position.
