DESCRIPTION:
Vanguard is seeking highly motivated and safety-conscious individuals to join its team. We are looking for Water Meter Technicians for the Woodville, OH area. This position is an excellent opportunity to learn a trade and join a growing company. · Conduct utility water meter services throughout assigned areas
· Safely and efficiently install the water meters and associated equipment with various hand tools and manage your daily allotment of inventory
· Read & record data information accurately in a mobile hand-held device, basic computer skills are helpful
· Follow standard operating procedures and company policies
· Communicate with customers effectively and respectfully
· Operate company-supplied vehicle safely (if required)
· Receive and return utility meters, tools, equipment, and supplies each day
REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to bend, stoop, walk and lift 40 lbs.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work alone 90% of the time, while still being part of a local team.
- Some travel is required within the state of Ohio.
- Will need to drive your personal vehicle to job sites. Per Diem is paid to cover personal vehicle usage.
· Ability to assemble and disassemble plumbing components
- Must be able to work with hand-held electronic devices.
- Must be able to work outdoors and withstand the regional, seasonal weather.
- Should have reliable transportation to and from work.
- Strong work ethic and dependable; Consistent attendance is imperative.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be drug-free, able to pass employment background check, and have a clean driving record.
- Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers.
- Ability to organize and prioritize job tasks and requirements.
· Attention to detail and accuracy is a must.
· Water utility knowledge is a bonus, but not required.
COMPENSATION:
· Unlimited earning potential with piece-rate compensation
