Job Description
The Project Engineer performs a variety of increasingly complex and technical duties related to the facilities planning and construction program.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Running design or construction meeting, conducting field checks, preparing written and photographic materials including correspondence, reports, procedures, guidelines, meeting minutes, and files.
- Person primarily responsible to maintain project files in both electronic and paper format.
- Functional knowledge of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to evaluate and ensure relation and compliance to project requirements.
- Obtain and maintain data, information, communications, and approvals required by project and company requirements between owner, architects, engineers, contractors/subcontractors, or other project related entities.
- Design Team Coordination for conformance review and timely and accurate responses to request for informations, submittals, construction change documents, etc.
- Maintain document and project controls systems and procedures. Monitors, evaluates and ensures compliance with systems and procedures.
- Participate in project meetings to include documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information and statuses.
- Makes field checks on construction, demolition, rehabilitation, alteration addition or repair projects to determine compliance with job specifications, and plans.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture is preferred (Extensive relevant construction management experience in place of education may be considered)
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as an project engineer is required
- Preferred experience with justice/correctional public projects in California
- Effective oral and written communication skills are required
- Knowledge of project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering/construction principles, techniques, materials, applications, and practices is required
- Experience with large projects is preferred
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products, Bluebeam, Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) software and experience with project-related Construction Management systems are preferred
- Professional Engineer License (PE), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or similar credential preferred
Offered rate of compensation will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. The Salary range for this position is $100,000.00-$110,000.00 .
