Job Description
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain a strong and timely social media presence to disseminate information and promotethe construction projects of FSD.
- Manage promotional materials, publications, media coverage, press guides, new releases,public outreach related to the dissemination of relevant information from the FacilitiesServices Division (FSD).
- Review online articles videos and social media posts to align with Facilities ServicesDivision’s media plan and improve outdated information shared to the public or generalcommunity where schools are modernized or updated.
- Develop content to the District website to promote students, teachers, special events andother positive information.
- Research, collect data and facts, compile information and develop correspondence, newreleases, news advisories, statements, featured articles, social media posts and specialprojects and scripts for release to community newspapers, radio and television stations, andother communications media and platforms.
- Produce or edit informational and educational materials such as newsletters, handbooks,brochures and other publications for dissemination.
- Participate in information and public relations planning such as providing input for FSDinformation and public relations goals and priorities and propose information budget tomanagement.
- Evaluate information and public relations efforts for value and cost-effectiveness.
- Support the Facilities Executive Office in the creation of presentations, written material, andsupporting documents for presentations to key executive meetings, especially boardmeetings.
- Develop displays, exhibits and educational programs or training avenues.
- Support the FSD branches, departments and offices in promoting new initiatives,accomplishments and results.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree incommunications, English, public relations, journalism or any related field.
- Candidates who do not meet the education requirement may substitute experience on a yearfor year basis.
- Minimum five years’ experience in public relations, information dissemination, media liaison,news reporting, feature writing, and maintaining working relationships with media staff.
- Candidate must have extensive experience in creating engaging and effective social mediacoverage for an agency.
Offered rate of compensation will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. The Salary range for this position is $70,000.00-$89,375.00.
