Overview:
Vanmade Gear is a leader in producing soft goods for the camper van and RV community. We are looking to add a talented and passionate individual to join our team as a Design Assistant to support the creation of unique products that have a positive impact on vanlife. This role provides the opportunity to learn and be involved in the full cycle of product design to production.
Responsibilities:
- Perform updates to pattern specifications in pattern library
- Be the first resource for production employee questions about pattern specifications of products
- Prepare batches for production, which includes digital data entry
- Organize and maintain the template library, digital files, and associated libraries/systems
- Assist in creating patterns and markers for production
- Assist with tracing and templating process for product development
- Learn how to perform aspects of the design and production life cycle such as operate the CNC Cutter and organize cut materials and supplies
- Various assigned related duties to assist design team, such as updating SKUs and design and pattern edits
Requirements:
- Demonstrated passion and interest in design and product design through experience or education
- Experience with pattern-making software
- Demonstrate good organization skills and attention to detail, and can track and manage small details and the workflow of a project
- Familiarity with pattern-making, templates, and sewing
- Clear and detailed communication skills, verbal and written
- Demonstrated skill in being a good teammate and team player
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable with projects working in a dynamic work environment
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
