The Personal Lines Customer Service Representative serves as the primary point of contact for policyholders, ensuring their insurance needs are met with professionalism and efficiency. This role is responsible for handling policy inquiries, processing changes, addressing billing concerns, and educating clients on coverage options to help them make informed decisions. The Personal Lines Customer Service Representative works closely with insurance carriers, underwriters, and the sales team to deliver seamless service, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance coverage and support clients’ evolving needs.
Essential Expectations and Responsibilities:
· Assist clients with inquiries regarding their personal insurance policies, including auto, home, renters, and umbrella coverage.
· Process policy changes, endorsements, renewals, and cancellations efficiently and accurately.
· Provide guidance on coverage options and assist clients in making informed insurance decisions.
· Address billing inquiries, process payments, and resolve any billing discrepancies.
· Collaborate with insurance carriers to obtain quotes, process claims, and ensure timely policy issuance.
· Proactively follow up with clients regarding renewals, policy changes, and coverage recommendations.
· Maintain detailed and accurate client records in the management system.
· Stay up to date on industry trends, carrier products, and policy changes to better assist clients.
· Additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
· Prior experience in personal lines insurance, customer service, or a related field preferred.
· Active Property & Casualty insurance license (or willingness to obtain one within three months of employment).
Physical Demands and Work Conditions:
This role primarily involves working in an office environment, requiring prolonged periods of sitting while using a computer and other office equipment. The position involves frequent use of hands for typing, handling documents, and operating a phone. Occasional standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms may be necessary. The role may also require the ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds, such as files or office supplies. Clear vision and hearing are essential for effective communication with clients and team members.
