Position Summary
The Retail Supply Supervisor shall oversee the Supply Support Activity (SSA) with responsibility for all storage and warehouse operations under this effort and must have at least 5 years of supervisory experience and a comprehensive knowledge of governing regulations, policies, procedures and instructions in supply management. The Retail Supply Supervisor must have a comprehensive knowledge of the applicable supply, storage, bulk fuel, subsistence and equipment management processes, warehouse and inventory management functions of multiple classes of supply installation SSA, related regulations and is required to ensure effective accountability of all assigned property. Provides oversight and guidance for Hazardous Material operations. Additionally, thorough knowledge of analytical techniques and causative research skills to identify areas of needed emphasis to recommend improvements. Shall oversee functional areas of the warehouse to include stock control, receiving, issue, turn-in, shipping, storage, material management, stock readiness, central receiving point, hazardous material, and serialization of sensitive and nonexpendable equipment. Briefs Accountable Officer of all warehouses related issues and or issues that may impact customer support. Attends Logistics Readiness Center briefings as directed or required. Plans and directs personnel and required resources for day-to-day mission support. Networks with commodity managers for disposition of excess. Coordinates the movement of serviceable and unserviceable excess for turn-in to DLA Disposition Services. Performs analysis of warehouse performance standards to measure warehouse effectiveness and determine methods to increase overall warehouse management efficiencies.
Essential Functions
- Prepare and manage departmental budgets.
- Supervise the activities of workers engaged in receiving, storing, testing, and shipping products or materials.
- Interview, select, and train warehouse and supervisory personnel.
- Plan, develop, or implement warehouse safety and security programs and activities.
- Prepare or direct preparation of correspondence, reports, and operations, maintenance, and safety manuals.
- Issue shipping instructions, provide routing information to ensure that delivery times and locations are coordinated.
- Coordinate warehouse activities, such as production, sales, records control or purchasing.
- Review invoices, work orders, consumption reports, forecasts to estimate delivery periods, and issue work assignments.
- Maintain warehouses, vehicle fleets, or equipment and order testing, maintenance, repairs, or replacements.
- Schedule or monitor air or surface pickup, delivery, or distribution of products or materials.
- Respond to customers' or shippers' questions and complaints regarding storage and distribution services.
- Develop and document SOPs for receiving, handling, storing, shipping, or salvaging products or materials.
- Track and trace goods while they are en route to their destinations, expediting orders when necessary.
- Negotiate with carriers, warehouse operators, or insurance representatives for services and preferential rates.
- Arrange for necessary shipping documentation and contact customs officials to effect release of shipments.
- Evaluate freight or inventory costs associated with transit times to ensure that costs are appropriate.
- Advise sales and billing departments of transportation charges for customers' accounts.
- Examine invoices and shipping manifests for conformity to tariff and customs regulations.
- Develop plans for storage and distribution activities that emphasize technological solutions for sustainability.
- Develop storage and distribution models that include factors such as warehouse locations, customer locations, or available transportation modes to maximize operational efficiency or sustainability.
- Evaluate operational efficiency or safety or environmental performance records.
- Evaluate the environmental implications of new warehouses or distribution networks.
- Plan or implement environmental training programs and activities.
Minimum Requirements
· Must have not less than 5 years of supervisory experience and a comprehensive knowledge of governing regulations, policies, procedures and instructions in supply management.
· Must have a minimum of 10 years of management experience in army logistics operations.
· Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the Logistics Information System (LIS).
· Must possess the appropriate verbal and written communications skills to conduct meetings, execute plans, prepare reports, plans, and working instructions.
· Must be highly qualified and possess general supervisory experience and supply management experience directly applicable to this effort.
· Must have specific management experience in retail-level supply and asset management.
· Must have experience with financial management.

Education and Citizenship Requirements
· US nationality/citizenship and residence, with verbal and written fluency in English.
· SECRET Security Clearance
· Desirable: Bachelor’s degree in management or other related discipline from a recognized and accredited institution.
