Position Summary
The Unit Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing and executing various aspects of the Maintenance Division’s maintenance operations and is aligned to focus on Unit Maintenance support. This position will program equipment for repair into shops and manage the resources (personnel, repair parts, facilities, tools) in order to complete all repairs/services IAW contract requirements. The Unit Maintenance Supervisor must be highly qualified with general supervisory experience and must have specific management experience in maintenance shop operations and in-depth technical knowledge concerning the repair of Army Materiel. The Unit Support Equipment Repair Supervisor must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in first-line supervision of fleet/equipment management / maintenance. The Unit Support Equipment Repair Supervisor must have prior experience similar to that of a CMF 63/92 Mechanical Maintenance career field supervisor.
Essential Functions
- Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment, and skill of personnel.
- Inspect and monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment, and provide employee safety training to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules.
- Investigate accidents or injuries and prepare reports of findings.
- Monitor employees' work levels and review work performance.
- Requisition materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, or replacement parts.
- Inspect, test, and measure completed work, using devices such as hand tools or gauges to verify conformance to standards or repair requirements.
- Conduct worker training in safety, repair, or maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.
- Develop, implement, or evaluate maintenance policies and procedures.
- Compute estimates and actual costs of factors such as materials, labor, or outside contractors.
- Examine objects, systems, or facilities and analyze information to determine installations, services, or repairs.
- Confer with personnel, such as management, engineering, quality control, customer, or union workers' representatives, to coordinate work activities, resolve employee grievances, or identify and review resource needs.
- Monitor tool and part inventories and the condition and maintenance of shops for adequate working conditions.
- Perform skilled repair or maintenance operations, using equipment such as hand or power tools, hydraulic presses or shears, or welding equipment.
- Participates in budget preparation and administration, coordinating purchasing and documentation and monitoring departmental expenditures.
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, or job orders to construct templates and lay out reference points for workers.
- Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies.
- Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as hires, promotions, transfers, discharges, or disciplinary measures.
- Review, evaluate, accept, and coordinate completion of work bid from contractors.
- Compile operational or personnel records, such as time and production records, inventory data, repair or maintenance statistics, or test results.
- Develop or implement electronic maintenance programs or computer information management systems.
- Meet with vendors or suppliers to discuss products used in repair work.
- Design equipment configurations to meet personnel needs.
Minimum Requirements
· Must have not less than 5 years of supervisory experience and a comprehensive knowledge of governing regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions in maintenance management.
· Must have a minimum of 5 years of management experience in army logistics operations.
· Must have a comprehensive knowledge of governing regulations, policies, and procedures dealing with Army Materiel Maintenance Management.
· Must have a comprehensive knowledge of the Logistics Information System (LIS).
· Must possess the appropriate verbal and written communications skills to conduct meetings, execute plans, prepare reports, plans, and working instructions.
· Must be highly qualified and possess general supervisory experience, supply management experience and transportation experience directly applicable to this effort.
· Must have specific management experience in retail-level supply, maintenance, and asset management.
· Must have experience with financial management.

Education and Citizenship Requirements
· US nationality/citizenship and residence, with verbal and written fluency in English.
· Desirable: Bachelor’s degree in management or other related discipline from a recognized and accredited institution.
