Vantage Auto is a family-owned, high-volume dealership group specializing in modern classic cars and custom-built G-Wagons and Defenders. We have built a reputation for excellence in the collector car and high-end automotive market. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant / Assistant to the CFO to join our team and play a key role in managing our financial operations with the opportunity grow into a more senior role at the company including becoming the head of our finance and accounting department.
The Senior Accountant / Assistant to the CFO will be responsible for overseeing daily accounting functions, financial reporting, and assisting the CFO in strategic financial planning. This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with automotive industry experience (preferred) and a strong background in accounting, excel, financial analysis, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities :
- Month-End Close Procedures : Manage and execute all month-end close activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and financial statement preparation to ensure accurate reporting.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis : Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Provide insights to the CFO on business performance, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
- General Accounting : Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries. Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Wire & ACH Transfers : Responsible for processing wire transfers and ACH payments for vehicle purchases and other major transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Inventory & Cost Management : Monitor vehicle inventory costs, valuations, and reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
- Compliance & Tax Filings : Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including sales tax filings and financial audits.
- Process Improvement : Identify opportunities to streamline accounting procedures, improve efficiency, and enhance internal controls.
- Payroll & Benefits Coordination : Assist with payroll processing and benefits administration in coordination with HR and external providers.
- HR Management : Assists CFO in handing employee-related issues and documenting HR related items in payroll software. Assists in oversight of the hiring process with CFO.
- Financial Systems & Software : Maintain and improve accounting software systems, ensuring data integrity and operational efficiency.
- Support CFO in Strategic Planning : Provide financial analysis and reports to support key business decisions, acquisitions, and long-term financial planning.
